CLCTN · FIELD FEEDBACK · VIDEO GAME · OCTOBER 2026
FROM A SKEPTIC
He hates every idea. He wants to pay for this one.
One retro-game collector, a ten-minute pitch and a prototype. Seven asks. Three already exist and he didn’t find them. Two are small changes to video-game.yml. Two turn out to be one new feature. Every ask is about seeing or completing the collection. None is about being warned.

02 · SERIES AND “DOOM ON EVERYTHING” ARE THE SAME FEATURE
Both use the existing set signature. Only the grouping key changes. The real addition is a work layer above the release: one game, many platform versions. Game databases already store this. It also fixes duplicate detection, since Doom on PS1 and Doom on 32X are not duplicates.

A limited reprint (the SNES Limited Run release) counts as its own release of the same work, so it gets its own tile, not a variant.

Where you are with it
This gives a backlog view for free. It's also a clock that fits the thesis: “Started 14 months ago, never finished.” It's opt-in, because people who only collect shouldn't get nagged to play.
SAVED VIEW · IMPERFECT · NO NEW DATA
Everything one part short
This is a filter on the condition ladder's “missing” and “worn” steps. It's sharable as a wanted list, which fits the trading half of the app.
